Question I am 8 weeks pregnant and have been using the following skin care products: Estee Lauder Resilience lift Extreme, Elizabeth Arden Intervene Night Cream and Lancome primordial yeux, skin recharge. Don't know why I didn't think of it before, but am now panicking about any potential harm this may have caused. Please could you advise me of the risks. Thank you
Answer While topical vitamin A and other Retinols should not be used during pregnancy, you don't need to panic. The amounts that are in over the counter products are very small, so I'm sure that you have not harmed your developing baby in any way. If either of these products contain Vitamin A/Retinol, just discontinue using them.
More importantly, you should refrain from using products that contain Pthalates, perfumes, Lavender oil, and petroleum products.
