I'm afraid I have to add to the answer with some information that makes your life a bit more complicated. I charted my ovulation over several months, and yes, it was always the standard 14 days after first day of last period. BUT THEN I met a guy who I was (excuse the honesty) very hot for, and what happened? First month, I ovulated day 14. Second, I ovulated 3-4 days earlier (we were counting the days and not having unprotected sex after 5 days before I was due to ovulate - maybe my body cottoned on that ovulate early = meet the sperm you've been waiting for ...). Third month: ovulated 5 days early. Pregnant. (Now 28 weeks and v happy, but that is by the by!). SO: it is perfectly possible, if your body is, shall we say, delighted to meet someone, that you can ovulated on Day 8 or 9. In your scenario, if day 1 was the 7th Sep, having sex on the 15th could fit - it would be the same timing as me. I guess it's less likely than the day 14 ovulation thing, but I felt you should know what happened to me - normally an ordinary day 14 chick, but body just took matters into its own hands! Good luck with it. I fear DNA testing is your only way to be sure (that and what the baby looks like).
