WHAT? it doesn't take minutes for the egg to be fertilized. it takes 6-7 hours for it to get to the egg.

From everything I've read, sperm typically live up to three days (although SOME studies have shown longer in ideal environments) and the egg can live up to 24 hours. That makes the five days where sex can typically result in conception: three days before ovulation, two days before ovulation, one day before ovulation, the day of ovulation and the day after ovulation.
