Question I am 22 with a 6 year old daughter. My lmp was 7/13/04 which is now 49 days ago. I have been getting cycles for 11 years now and they are always 29-31 days except my pregnancy with my daughter. Now I am few weeks late and have taken may hpt and gotten all negatives.I have eve gone to the er and had a urine test -negative also. I had intercourse the week of 7/25-7/31 everyday. Could I still be pregnant or could there be another reason? I have not had no change in life as in stress, diet excercise or anything to that nature.
Answer If you had a normal 28 day cycle (from the first day of your period until the first day of your next period) ovulation occurs on cycle day #14. However, if you have a 29-32 days cycle, you ovulated around cycle day #15. You can become pregnant if you have unprotected sex on cycle day #14,15,16,17, or 18. Since your last period started on July 13, you could have ovulated any time after July 27. A pregnancy test will not show a positive test until after August 10-17. The best time to take a pregnancy test is seven days after you miss your period. By now, if you have a negative pregnancy test, you are not pregnant. To be sure, take a blood test for pregnancy (Beta HCG)and you will know for sure.
