Question
My age is 25 yrs. This is my first pregnancy and I had my last period on 8th November 05.

My height is 5 3" inches and before pregnancy only I was 20 pounds overweight.I was exercising before to loose weight and burn excess fat.

Iwas doing warm ups and then cardio and then streching.but i stopped as soon i became pregnant.
My questions are :

1. As i m pregnant now can i loose some excess weight still .

2. I was doing kickboxing and weights for Cardio,Is it advidable to exercise as i was doing before.

3. Can i afford try to loose weight or excess fat for 1 mnth or so as i don't want to overweigh during pregnancy.

I hope i haven't asked much .It's long but i need clear answer so i provided all specs.Hope to see reply.

Answer
During pregnancy, we would like you to gain around 30lbs for the entire pregnancy. It is not adviseable to lose weight during pregnancy because if you lose weight, we can't tell of the baby is growing adequately. You can continue exercise during pregnancy, but avoid aerobics and any exercise that puts you in danger of losing your balance. After 20 weeks gestation, when you lose your waist, you will no longer be able to do abdominal exercises. Different doctors allow different exercises. Pleas discuss it with your doctor.
