ObGyn/Pregnancy issues - pregnancy vomiting

Expert: Roni CNA - 3/2/2005

Question
My wife is 4-6 weeks oregnant and constantly vomiting all day. She can keep nothing down. We visited the hospital and was told there is nothing wrong after many tests. They re-hydrated her and gave here fenrgen for nausea. Three days later she is back to constant vomiting. The hospital will tell me nothing and I don't know what to do. Can you please help me?

Answer
Your poor wife.  What an awful way to start out this new life.
The good news is most women will stop this in or around the third month.  The bad news is that could still be a couple months away!
If it starts right away in the morning, she could try not hopping right out of bed.  Instead have crackers waiting on the nightstand, have her sit up slowly, then munch a couple slowly to see if this will ease her tummy from the start. (soda crackers, not like cheese crackers, or wheat thins)
She may just have to deal with it, often there is nothing you can do.
Good luck!
