Question
I have had a m/c about 5 years ago and the dr wanted mr now to do ivf.  But i just took a preg. test and it was positive.  My period came 1 week late and i never stoped bleeding but it is not heavy as a period almost like the last two days of a cycle it has been about two almost 3 weeks the dr just gave me promrtrium will that stop me from bleeding ? I know this is weird but have you heard of this before.  I go tommorw for b- work to check bata count.

Answer
Hi Zee,

Sometimes women bleedin or miscarry in early pregnancy because their progesterone is low.  So, your doctor prescribed some synthetic progesterone to account for the amount your body doesn't produce.  Anytime you have bleeding in pregnancy however, it is best to be checked out as this is not a normal symptom.  Take it easy and wait and see what the work-up shows.  Good luck!
