Question
My dad has an early 1940's Marigaux oboe 901 I can not find any serial number on the instrument? I know it was made in Paris within the first decade the company made the instruments. It is in very good condition with the original case is there any way to place a dollar value on it?

Thanks

Answer
Dear William

What an interesting instrument you have there. I would like to send pictures to the Marigaux Company to friends of mine there who might be interested in seeing this instrument. If you can do this please send them to :

geoffrey@geoffreybridgeoboe.com

As the company only began in 1935 this oboe would have been made by Jules Marigaux himself who died around 1970.

I await your reply

Best wishes
