Question hi
I am an int'l student.I checked out the scholarship webpages on your college, but still think it's too general.Could you tell me in details how can i make myself stand out among all scholarship applicants?
Do i need to submit the photocopy of my award certificate?
Answer Dear Yuko:
Thanks for the question.
I haven't been a student at Occidental for quite a while now. But it seems to me that the best way to make yourself stand out is to simply tell them what it is that you think makes you unique and special. What can you bring to the school, the community, and the educational process that will matter in the long run?
Remember that, by giving you a scholarship, the school is making an investment in your future. They have every reason to expect a return on that investment - if you can do something worthwhile with your education, it pays off for the school - in prestige or in possible donations back to the school.
I hope this has been helpful. If I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to write again. Otherwise, I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors.
