Question I am an emplopee of a dental office where we have ALot of bats and bat feces in the attic. What kind of healt hazard is this to me and who should we contact to get the problem resolved. My employer has contacted the landlord about this and he doesn't seem to be concerned. We all seem to have some kind of medical problems that work in there.
Thanks

Answer: Sue, I am not going to be a big help. I once did battle with a very large flock of pigeons in a paper mill that were creating a similar problem. They (the management) would not let me use poison corn (something about dead pigeons falling on city streets and parks, in hindsight the proper call) so we went with sonic noise makers and finally 357 Magnum shot shells during a holiday shut down. The pigeons WON – every time, so I do not have a good record. I would suggest you contact an industrial hygienist who might be available through the state or your workers compensation insurance carrier or the local public health office. They would have current information on potential health hazards and might be able to suggest solutions. A not very specific answer and most likely not what you were hoping for but this a primarily outside my area of expertise so maybe this will give you an idea about possible knowledgeable resources.
