Oil/Gas - selling mineral acres in Oklahoma
Expert: Laura M. FitzGerald, CPL - 10/31/2009
Question I inherited mineral rights to some property in Oklahoma. A Land Company has sent an offer to purcahse all right, title and interest in the 40 net mineral acreas for a $1000 per acre. I have no idea if this is wise to sell, or if there are other questions I should ask. Would it be best to contact a lawyer in Oklahoma?
Answer John,
This sounds low to me.
Why don't you email or fax me over the property information and I will check on the value of it for you.
Also, please let me know how much interest you own in the 40 acres and whether the property is under an Oil, Gas and Mineral Lease. If it is leased, please provide me with the company's name you leased it to and what your royalty is in the lease.
You can email me at lfitzgerald@iliosresources.com or call my office and speak with Rebecca and leave her this information and I will get back with you promptly.
