Question hi, i found some papers about oil and mineal rights, and gas, that my dad inherited back from his uncle in 1968. i my dad passed away in 2005. i wonder how i can find out what happened to these rights of his. its ocated in roosevelt, montana. i have not been able to locate a number for the lawyer that is listed on these papers that i found, his name baxter larson. can u help me? thanks, joanne
Answer Did you file a succession proceeding on your father's estate? If so, the attorney who handled the succession would be able to advise you on this.
If you did not file a succession proceeding, then, you could ask a title company to run the title to this particular interest to determine who is the current record owner of same.
