Question
QUESTION: Do you know of activity in Columbia County, Arkansas?  Specifically 17S-21W area.  Thanks!

ANSWER: Other than the Shell Oil outside Brister, No.
Ten counties in Arkansas produce oil, all in the southern region of the state: Ashley, Bradley, Calhoun, Columbia, Hempstead, Lafayette, Miller, Nevada, Ouachita, and Union. Historically, most of this production has been in Union, Lafayette, Columbia, and Ouachita counties. These four counties have been responsible for more than eighty-five percent of the oil produced in the state.
So, what activity are you looking for? Seems pretty busy everywhere.

QUESTION: Well, we have acreage in this area and have not had interest in many years. My radar always goes up when we get a "cold call" and are offered "the highest" rates for the area.  We have been offered 3/16th with $80.00 paidup lease.  This happened to us awhile back in LA in the Haynesville Shale. Thanks again!

Answer
Sorry I couldn't have been of more help. I really have no experience in situations such as these.
I'm a lubrication engineer in that I solve problems with the application of lubrication products after the fact.
Always wanted to get on a rig and play John Wayne with the tin hat and all, but never happened. Good luck on your property situation. remember, just like in the movies "Trust No One"!  :)

Sorry, I don't do leases, property claims, legal issues, or royalty questions. Just those issues listed below. Regarding: Heavy Duty Lubricants(HDMO), Passenger Car Lubricants(PCMO), Hydraulics, Greases, Gear OIls. Applications, Substitution, Constituants, and general knowldge of the aforementioned products. Not well versed in the actual manufacture of petrochemical products, but can answer general questions. I have a vast network of information sources within the Petrochemical Industry (Not too much on fuels). If I don`t know the answer, I can usually find one rather quickly.
