Question
QUESTION: hi,
i heard a song on radio 2 the other day i tried to remember the title and artist ...but u know what its like when you're driving! I seem to remember the artist was called dan block (or something like)but can't find any info on this name.
the theme of the song was a guy singing about all the faults of a woman in his life...but despite this he loved her anyhow and the piece that sticks was the reccuring chorus "she's always a woman to me" but this doesn't appear to be the title
HELP
olive (puzzled of huddersfield)

ANSWER: Hi Olive
I think that the song you are looking for is my Billy Joel. It goes like this:
She can kill with a smile
She can wound with her eyes
She can ruin your faith with her casual lies
And she only reveals what she wants you to see
She hides like a child,
But she's always a woman to me

She can lead you to love
She can take you or leave you
She can ask for the truth
But she'll never believe
And she'll take what you give her, as long as it's free
Yeah, she steals like a thief
But she's always a woman to me

CHORUS:
Oh--she takes care of herself
She can wait if she wants
She's ahead of her time
Oh--and she never gives out
And she never gives in
She just changes her mind

And she'll promise you more
Than the Garden of Eden
Then she'll carelessly cut you
And laugh while you're bleedin'
But she'll bring out the best
And the worst you can be
Blame it all on yourself
Cause she's always a woman to me
--Mhmm--

Bridge

CHORUS:
Oh--she takes care of herself
She can wait if she wants
She's ahead of her time
Oh--and she never gives out
And she never gives in
She just changes her mind

She is frequently kind
And she's suddenly cruel
She can do as she pleases
She's nobody's fool
And she can't be convicted
She's earned her degree
And the most she will do
Is throw shadows at you
But she's always a woman to me
--Mhmm--

Cheers
Sean

QUESTION: thanks a lot for that
olive
p.s. who the hell is dan block?

Answer
Hmmmmmm! I give up, who the hell is Dan Block??? A Google search reveals this

Daniel Block is an American jazz clarinetist who has worked with artists such as Charles Mingus, Toshiko Akiyoshi and Maria Schneider. He is a member of the Marty Groz' Band, and also can be found in the pits of various Broadway shows in New York City.

Also if you are old enough to remember Bonanza! the you'd know Dan Blocker (he played Hoss Cartwright)but I bet he never cut a record!! Drifting even further away from the subject....Lorne Green did though and it was  "Ringo" and you'd have to go a long way to here a more dire record too!!

I'm sure that you are totally rivetted with all of this useless information so I will quit while I'm behind.
Cheers
Sean
