Having worked in radio for over 30 years, including several oldies stations, my expertise is 60s & 70s music. I`ve long been a fan of oldies and trivia, and have a large music library and several great books as well.
Question I HAVEN'T HEARD THIS SONG FOR A LONG TIME. IT'S PROBABLY MID-TO-LATE 60'S OR EARLY 70'S. IT'S STUCK IN MY HEAD. I DON'T KNOW IF A GROUP OR INDIVIDUAL SANG IT. YOU CAN'T MISTAKE THE MELODY. IT'S A BEAUTIFUL "SOFT" SONG. I believe you're looking for one of my all-time favorites. It's called "Suavecito" and was done by the group Malo, reaching #18 in 1972. The group included Jorge Santana, Carlos' brother. below are the lyrics. Please let me know if that's not the one.
