Question
Hi my husband is the son of the Late Arthur blackwell and he told me a story of his dad being in the singing group the Carnations can you tell me where i can find their music. Is it available for me to buy? He never heard his father sing and I wanted to surprise him. Thanks please email me.

Answer
Hi Sandra,

Arthur was in a very early Startones/Carnations line-up and only on their first four recordings, issued on two 45's. Arthur was definitely on the recording "No Time For Tears".

He was replaced by his brother, Tommy, in the group in 1958/9.

Keep checking eBay for vinyl 45's by the group. If you get some, you can have them copied onto CD for future enjoyment.

Thanks for asking,

Lou
