Having worked in radio for over 30 years, including several oldies stations, my expertise is 60s & 70s music. I`ve long been a fan of oldies and trivia, and have a large music library and several great books as well.
Question I use to sing the song, Faith, Hope&Charity when i was in grade school. I was very surprise that no one in my Church ever heard of the song. My question is, can you kindly send me the lyrics to that song. My congregation would like to heard the entirety of that song and i would like to try and sing it for them and i'm not a singer.
Answer Hello Joseph,
Here are the lyrics:
CHORUS
FAITH, HOPE AND CHARITY,
THREE LITTLE WORDS THAT SET ME FREE.
FREE FROM MY BURDENS; FREE FROM MY FEARS.
IT'S BEEN WELL SAID OVER THE YEARS.
A CHILD CALLED FAITH; DO TAKE NOTE,
A KINDLY NURSE BY THE NAME OF HOPE,
A TOWN PASSED THROUGH CALLED CHARITY,
WHAT DO THESE WORDS MEAN FOR YOU AND ME?
CHORUS
FAITH IN GOD WHO HAS A PLAN,
HOPE FOR SALVATION; HOPE FOR MAN,
CHARITY IN THOUGHT AND LOVE IN DEED.
THREE LITTLE WORDS TO SET ME FREE.
CHORUS
THEY SAY CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME,
DEEP IN OUR HEART WHEN WE'RE ALL ALONE,
TRUSTING IN GOD AND JESUS HIS SON,
KNOWING THAT THE GOOD RACE WE HAVE RUN.
