Question
Dear Dave:

Sometime in the early sixties there was
a novelty song with the lyrics "Get out of here with
your whoop-de-doo and don't come back no more". Can
you provide song name and singer? It's not Lou Monte.
Thanks!

Bob from Keene, NH

Answer
Hi Bob,

Right you are!  That would be "The Thing" by Phil Harris. It actually first came out in 1950!

You can see the full lyrics here:  http://www.kidsongs.com/lyrics/the-thing.html

You can also hear it here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2H6qC23RPY

Thanks for asking and Happy Holidays!  : - )
