The Clovers song "Have Gun" is the right song for the lyrics Rob quoted. My memory tells me there was also another version of it, but I cannot remember who, where, or when.

This song was played on American Bandstand by Dick Clark around 1959.I think the title was Here they come, there they go, watch them run.Lyrics1st verse:San Francisco 42, long side burns and a mustache too, cowboy boots and a buckskin jacket, man this cat's got a real cool racket. Have gun will travel, find clue unravel, six shooter gun,oh it's got-em on the run, here the come, there they go,watch them run,we're haven fun.

I just love old time rock & roll! Send me your questions about Oldies music. Want to know who sang what? What label so-and-so recorded on? What was the lyric to a certain song? What ever happened to...? Or anything at all to do with good ol` 1950`s rock? I`m your girl. I`ll do my best to put your mind at rest!

I've always been a rock history buff. I have answered many questions for friends, family and "net" pals. Some people remember names, some people remember faces... I remember music.
