when i put the car in gear the passenger rear tire wont spin what could the problem be?

HI BERNARD, THE AXLE SHAFT ON THE RIGHT SIDE IS MORE THEN LIKELY BROPKEN..NOT THE ACTUAL SHAFT BUT THE CV JOINT ON THE SHAFT..LIFT THE CAR AND LOOK AT THE AXLE IF IT MOVES BUT NOT THE WHEEL, THE CV JOINT IS BAD..A NEW AXLE WITH BOTH INNER AND OUTER CV JOINTS WILL COST YOU ABOUT $80.00 PLUS LABOR 1.5 HRS..HOPE THIS HELPS YOU AND GOOD LUCK TO YOU,,,TOM...
