Expertise
I have been maintaining a fleet of approximately 55 light, medium and heavy vehicles for over 20 years. Most are 4X4 pickups and off road fire fighting trucks. Some medium duty trucks. Some military light trucks. I can answer most questions concerning 4X4 engine, drive line, suspension, electrical, and fuel, both diesel and gasoline. Ford, GM, and Dodge, old and new, but prefferably not newer than 99.

Oldsmobile/Buick Repair - 93 roadmaster

Expert: Van - 9/22/2006

Question
roadmaster blows the park light/ dash light fuse as soon as you plug it in. headlight switch was removed and it still has the problem. cannot find any shorts. can you help?

Answer
Check your owners manual, and see what else is protected by that same fuse.
Then connect a test light across the fuse terminals, rather than a new fuse.
The light will glow brightly.
Then start unhooking all that it controls, including the connector in the back of the instrument cluster.
When the test light dims, you have found the area.
