Question I have a 1998 Buick Lesabre with a 3800 series v6 (I believe a 231 ci)117,000 miles. I started the engine this morning and it idled very rough. Then it died in about 2 minutes. I won't restart. I checked for spark by taking a spark plug out and watching for the spark as someone turned the ignition key. There was no spark. The battery is good, all of the lights work normally. The car just passed its emission inspection. Any suggestions you could give would be greatly appreciated. One fellow suggested the ignition module, but I'm not familiar with this. A couple of years ago I replaced the spark plug wires, spark plugs and 1 ignition coil.
thanks...
Answer HI MICHEAL,WELL CAN ONLY BE TWO THINGS ONE IS CRANKSENSOR THE OTHER IS IGNITION MODULE.WHICH IS ACTUALLY THE PART THAT YOUR COILS ARE BOLTED ON TOP OF.THE CRANKSENSOR IS BEHIND THE PULLEY ON THE BOTTOM OF YOUR ENG THAT DRIVES YOUR BELTS.IT WILL TAKE SOME EXTENSIVE DIAG TO DECEIDE JUST WHICH OF THE TWO HAS FAILED.GOOD LUCK PLEASE RATE MY HELP BILLYMAC
