Question Hi
We're planning a honeymoon for July and I've read that Oman can be slightly cooler than other Gulf States (eg Dubai) in July. Is this the case? Also, would you recommend Oman as honeymoon destination
Answer Yes , Oman is a fabulous destination for a honeymoon. There is so much to see and do. However it is quite hot there in July (in Muscat) and any temperature differential with Dubai is minimal and hardly noticable. I suggest going down to Salalah in the southern region where it is remarkably cooler than Muscat due to the monsoon. Days are continually cloudy with dense mist and light rains from June to September. But as you might expect, you won't get any sun. If you do stay in the northern region, go into the mountains: either Jebel Akhdar or go camping on Jebel Shams. The altitude is 8000-10000 feet and the temps are cooler than at the coast.
