Question Hi, I am female and am looking to visit Oman for about 10 days in June. What is the culture like, and is it socially acceptable for a girl to travel alone in Oman?
Answer Women have a much more equal footing in Oman than in other Middle Eastern countries. Women come and go as easily as men and you should have no problem getting about.
Please be advised to wear light, loose fitting clothing nothing to skimpy or revealing. Headgear for women is not necessary if you are a non-muslim, but I would suggest borad-brimmed hats for the sun.
Otherwise, you should not feel restricted when you travel.
