Oncology (General Cancer) - Lymphoproliferative disorder

Expert: Meir Wetzler M. D. - 1/22/2008

Question
What is meant by the term "early lymphoproliferative disorder" ? My doctor has been monitoring me for this. He also said that my bone marrow test showed something with monoclonal b cells.

I'd be interested in an explanation that I could unterstand.

Thank you for your help.

Answer
Dear Cindy,
Your doctor means that there is a population of cells that originated from one cell and are growing without control. Their growth rate is slow and therefore your doctor feels that it is OK to follow you carefully.
Should you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely, Meir.
