Subject: pancreatic tumour
Question why would a surgeon postpone resection of a localized pancreatic tumor for 6-8 weeks, preferring to remove a 2 cm colon mass instead? subject is a 78 yr old man; ca-199 over 1200.
Answer There are many possible reasons. Besides I'm not a surgeon but a medical oncologist and a radiation therapist so I may even overlook or miss some reasons. This question should be directed to an expert of surgery - or even better to the surgeon in question directly!
