Subject: liver cancer
Question My wife had surgery for two tumors, one by resection and one by RFA just less than 3 months ago. Her cancer is back and she is told she has a much larger tumor and several smaller one's that are inoperable. she has stage 4 cirrhosis and has been in remission from HCV three years. She absolutely refuses transplant even if she might qualify. Is there anything I can do for her to make this more comfortable for her and any idea how long she might have. Our doctors are being very vague and I'm a tell it like it is kind of man.
Answer These were HARD questions! I still have far too little information of her case to be able to form any opinion on those matters! If you can give me more details of the pathology of her tumors, a more exact description of all tumor locations and a more detailed case history I may be able to provide you with the desired evaluation. For example is her liver cancer a primary one (quite common in cirrhosis cases but I need to KNOW) or a secondary one? That is of great importance for her prognosis.
