Question
By transvaginal US, my Rt ovary measured 3.0 x2.8 x2.4cm
my left measured 3.1 x2.0 x1.9cm. Both appeared normal and follicles appeared normal. My endometrial stripe was 6.7mm and uterus was homogenous appearance.Done on day 5 of period.
Im 43 yo with one fullterm pregnancy (daughter 5 yo).
I have been having midcycle spotting and a period lasting 7 days. The last four days are just bright red spotting.
I have abd tenderness below the umbilicus at my period and at mid cycle. My 44 yo sister was just diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of uterus.
Shouold I be worried. Please help with your advice.My ovaries are large arent they?

Answer
Well at least you may have an increased risk since you have this family history. There is however no direct connection between uterine cancer and ovarian cancer. As in most biological things there are variations in "normal" ovarian sizes. So I can not say that the sizes you mention are alarming. Especially as they seem to look normal. If you want to be more safe you can always DEMAND 1. a uterine endometrial biopsy and 2. a laparascopy (endoscopy of your abdominal cavity) via your navel (in order to avoid scars) to inspect your ovaries and if necessary to take biopsies from them. If I happened to be in your shoes and with these symptoms and this family history I would probably demand at least the endometrial biopsy. Good luck!
