Question
after being diagnosed with this we have sought a second opinion. the doctor wants to do a second cone biopsy as the first showed numerous signs of "dirty cancerous" edges. we have asked about chemo or radiation and both state no but we have read others suggesting it. with the result of the second cone, the doc will determine hysterectomy or radical hysterectomy. can you elaborate on this type of cancer, and any suggestions? thank you.

Answer
There are some modern treatments which will stop the cancer from growing and will prevent recurrance after current treatment. you can mail me on khalid2277@rediffmail.com to know details.

By far the most common type of cancer of the womb is endometrial cancer.  ‘Endometrial’ means that the cancer starts in the lining of the womb.  This lining is called the endometrium.  About 95 out of every 100 endometrial cancers are adenocarcinomas.  ‘Adeno-’ means that the cells that have become cancerous are the cells of glandular tissue (in this case, the glands of the endometrium).  ‘Carcinoma’ means that the cancer has started in a surface or lining layer of cells (the epithelium).  There are 3 main types of adenocarcinomas

   * Endometrioid adenocarcinomas
   * Papillary serous carcinomas
   * Clear cell carcinoma
