Question First off, my husband is going to see a doctor about this in a couple weeks. He has this patch of skin on his back that suddenly started growing hair. He is not someone that has ever had hair on his back. Beneath this area, which is about the size of a deck of cards, I can feel that it feels raised up. I don't see a mole on the outside, but it feels like a thickness beneath the skin and it's growing hair. Any ideas what it might be? My hubby had our family doctor look quickly and she felt it too but wants to see him in for full bloodwork and a physical.
Answer Well, honestly this is a question for a dermatologist, really not for me and certainly not for a family dr.! Without an examination I can not be sure either! However hair covered skin lesions are not usually cancerous - and I think that was the most important message you wanted to hear! Even so I think he should let a DERMATOLOGIST take a look at it! Good luck!
Thanks! If there is any uncertainty demand a biopsy!
