I was on the faculty of Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta from 1979 to 1995, holding the position of Associate Professor of Medicine (Hematology and Oncology) at the univerisity and Associate Professor of Human Oncology at the Winship Cancer Center at the time of my leaving Emory.I have been in private practice since 1995 in Metro Atlanta area in Gwinnett county. Our group consists of four oncologists, with three offices in Gwinnett County, Ga.

My husband was diagnosed over 2 years ago with HCC
The cancer is confined to the liver but is all
throughout the liver. The treatment was Sir Spheres
microbeads coated with radiation released into the liver internally. He was very sick for 6 months.
Had to insert a feeding tube. He is doing well now
and has started on Nexavar. Last Jan. doctors gave
him 1 year to live. He is still going strong.
Looks after himself, drives, etc. The only problem
we have encountered is with eating. He has not been
able to eat in 2 years. Exists only on Ensure and soup, popcicles. Hope this info helps.
