The domain name I have was created when I read back than, that the "1" in the beginning of the URL, will put you on top of the list in SEO - what a mistake. However, can I purchase another domain name and direct/share the 2 URL's so that I can still keep the current old one and gradually switch to the new one. Please explain.
Thank you, Gabe
Answer You should really be asking this question in Web-Hosting-Advice or SEO-Marketing if SEO is the real concern here. I believe the correct procedure is:
1. Get the new domain name
2. Duplicate site over to it
3. Use 301 redirect (permanent change) to send traffic and spiders to the new site
4. Eventually shut down old site
but I'm not an expert in the technical side of SEO.
