Online Marketing/Selling A Domain Name

Hello Justin,
I created a domain name that I would like to offer up for sale, but am uncertain as to how to go about this.  I registered the name in October 2013, which gives rise to another question - is registering the name sufficient protection against someone appropriating the name, or should one copyright the name as well?
If you could kindly suggest how or where to offer it for sale, I would sincerely appreciate it.  Thank you for your time.

Hi Sandra,

In my experience, it's probably best to set up your domain name for sale/auction via GoDaddy Auctions.  They have one of the largest domain auctions available which means you'll get the most exposure to buyers looking for domain names.

If you are simply selling the domain name it shouldn't be necessary to get a trademark on the name.

I hope this helps in your efforts.

I've been an entrepreneur since age 8 and I've started and sold many businesses in various industries over the years. After years of building and operating businesses I fell in love with Internet marketing. I've been helping businesses for over 15+ years reach their ideal prospects in various online channels. For many years, I was a business consultant that helped businesses analyze every element of their operation in order to find opportunities for business growth. I was able to help many companies triple their sales revenue within 18 months of my consulting work. This helped me refine my processes and systems so that they would be effective for all businesses. That's when I decided to start a marketing business. Today, we help many businesses throughout the Los Angeles area and across the nation. I live, eat and breathe Internet marketing!
