Question
Hi,I would like to know if it possible to train on older male's voice (49!) to a reasonable standard - capable of Classical Opera (Tenor)

Answer
Hello and thank you for your question

The answer is: YES YOU CAN!!!
I happen to be an adult education teacher and I have all mature students. Some started at 40's or 50's or 60's (I had a 60 year old tenor by the way) and their level was complete beginners. After 3-4 years they can now sing opera. It is indeed too late to have a career but it is never too late to sing. It all depends on the effort you are prepared to put into it and obviously, on your vocal potential. Music and singing are wonderful tools to work on yourself and they bring most people lots of pleasure and happiness. After all, that is all that matters: the sense of enjoyment and fulfillment you get from it.

All the best
