Question My friend and roomate is going to have a recital due to college graduation in
spring, mine will be the following fall. We would like to perform a duet
together. She is the ideal Soubrette soprano, and I am somewhere between
soubrette and light lyric. We have been told the flower duet and sul l'aria from
figaro.
any more ideas?
thanks
Answer Hi Mary,
I think sul l'aria would be good. If you want to do something funny and engaging try Rossini's Cat Duet ("Duetto buffo di due gatti"i. The only words are "meow" - but it's cute and funny. You also might think about doing the duet from Hansel and Gretel (When at night I go to sleep).
