Hello
I'm a 40 year old man and was operated in may 2007 from miopia through a lasik , after a month I got an iritis and was cured with steroid drops , used for a month.
Now I have an other iritis or uveitis and a very high pressure in the eye , they say a beginning of glaucoma , they treat me again with steroid drops .
Is there any possibility that al this is related with the operation , I'm a healthy man , eat healthy , have no symptoms of any other sickness. I always had very sensible eyes but never such a complications .
Taking cortisone drops may release the symptoms now but isn't it going to come quicker back and what could be an alternative  way of curing iritis and release the pressure (glaucoma)?

Thank you for your query.
To answer them:-
1. There is no link in the start of the iritis and your LASIK surgery as anatomically the problems are in two diffenet areas with no connection between them.
2. You must find out the reason for iritis if it happens frequently, there are many tests that need to be done to rule out certain conditions of auto immunity etc.
3. If found to have high intra ocular pressure, this could be due to the iritis itself. The management has to be vigilant with your treating doctor who will on examination of your eyes regularly monitor the dose of your eye drops.
Hence, you will surely need to see your doctor regularly.
