Question My son is almost 4 years old and for the last 3 weeks has been blinking his eyes really hard. Its become more frequent and is happening more often. Its seems to happen at any time, no certain circumstance. I'm very concerned that it may be a neurological problem. Any ideas would be extremely helpful. Thanks.
Answer First have him examined an optometrist used to examining young children or by a pediatric ophthalmologist to make sure his eyes are healthy, seeing well, and working together. It is a basic exam and routine. They will guide you and suggest any additional tests. Blinking can be anything from normal or a tic or it could be eye irritation or needing glasses, etc. I hope that gives you some guidance.
