AboutMichael J. Wojciak, O.D. Expertise I am an Optometrist with 21 yrs experience.
I currently practice primary eye care in Lombard & Schaumburg,
Illinois. I specialize in all types of contact lenses.
Please forward appropriate questions pertaining to eye exams, glasses or contact lenses only. I will always attempt to be as "specific" as I can on my answers. This is often difficult when the questions do not provide enough information or visual presentation is needed.
***I will reject any question involving self-prescribing of contact lenses or involving contact lens measurements/comparisons (such as changing base curves, measurement comparisons between brands etc). Contact lenses are a medical device and need to be properly fit by your Doctor. Also in respect for patient privacy, I will not answer third party questions, unless a parent or guardian is asking a question about their child.***
I appreciate your confidence.

I am a 18 year old student. For the past few days I have been noticing a slight blurred vision in my right (dominant) eye if I try to look at far off trees/signs. Though not completely blurred but it is indeed noticeable. I have had two eye checks in the past month just to be sure. Both the tests revealed 6/6 in both the eyes. I got the tests done at GKB Opticals.
I have been reading online about eye problems and I came across an article reagarding computer syndrome and near point stress. I have been using my computer extensively for the past 2-3 months. Is this blurred vision due to this? Can I recover from it? Are there any eye excercises that I could do?
Answer Hi Aj,
You must not live in the US where I practice. I am not familiar with 6/6, but I would guess it is similar to 20/20/ If you work on the computer a lot, the eyes may become fatigues leaving focusing issues.
Looking at detail near and far may be a bit difficult until the stress subsides. A qualified doctor should be able to test for this and offer suggestions based on there findings. I often Rx very mild reading glasses for my patients who do prolonged work on the computer. This often helps more than any exercises.
Hope this helps,
Dr. Wojciak
