Subject: Scleral Neovascularization

Question
I have developed scleral neovascularization, secondary to soft contact lens wear.  One vessel is particularly tortuous, quite noticeable, and unattractive.  I've discontinued the lenses and have been wearing glasses for two weeks.  Seriously considering LASIK surgery.  Question: Will these vessels atrophy if I remain off the contact lenses permanently, allowing the cornea to obtain its oxygen supply from the air?  Thank you.

Answer
Dear CV,

The eye specialist can help you with some eye drops to shrink the vessels and also will need to do follow up checks to see the progress.

Yes, LASIK can be a permanent treatment to your Myopia, however, there are many tests that need to be done to assess your suitability for the same.

My suggestion would be to get an opinion for this and then plan accordingly.
