Ophthalmology & Optometry - 8 month old baby

Expert: Dr. Margaret Placentra Johnston, OD - 7/9/2009

Question
white puss like line forming around my babys right eye lens. it was just a small spot but now its around the whole lens, and now it is developing in the left eye lens as well. no tearing but some times he feels irritation n starts rubbing it. the eye becomes red, i am using an eye onitment but i think itis not working and hes sneezing as well.

Answer
I HOPE you have seen the doctor about this.  But if not, that is the FIRST thing you must do!

The problem arises that a regular pediatrician may not be prepared to treat an eye problem as well as an ophthalmologist.  Most Ophthalmologists are not well set up to see babies. Your very best bet, if its possible for you is to see a pediatric Ophthalmologist.

It may just be allergies but please do not take a chance here.  Make the appointment today.
