Question
in case of intraviterial injection of steroid ..would you prefer to do testing to determined if there is risk of increasing IOP before injection or not? and if so ,would you like to use topical or sup conjunctival injection of steroid ? and for how long ?

Answer
Dear Rasha:  Normally the intraocular pressures are checked prior to intraocular injections of steroids, then immediately thereafter and the following day, week, etc. If theres is significant increases in IOPs ,then a pressure - lowering eyedrop is often prescribed temporarily until the pressure is back in the normal and safe range. The standard of care is NOT to check if patients are steroid responder unless theres a previous history of being a steroid responder, glaucoma, active herpetic or fungal eye disease etc, or any other ocular ailment where steroids would be injurious to the eye .  Hope this helps
