Ophthalmology & Optometry/Computer lenses.

What are you thoughts on prescription computer lenses?
- Are they beneficial to individuals experiencing symptoms of eye strain while at a computer, however completely 'normal' vision otherwise?
- Do optometrist readily prescribe these lenses for non visual impaired people?
Thanks, I appreciate the help! (Age: 14)

I think the best glasses are none at all if you don't need help with focusing or aiming the eyes.  It's best to adjust and reduce the monitor brightness/contrast and keep it clean/no reflections etc and remember to blink often and stay hydrated.  OK, if you need glasses get an antireflection coating and single vision lenses offer the more viewing area and most stable image view.  multifocals are a step down and need more instructions/info from your optician.
hope that helps,

I'm happy to answer questions about eye exam findings and procedures, glasses and contact lens types/prescriptions/problems. I can also answer questions about general eye conditions/diseases. I do not answer questions concerning surgical techniques/procedures. Please state your age or within a small range when asking questions, as it is often important.
