Question
I have a pimple underneath my eyelid which has been bothering me now for like two months. I went to the eye doctor, because I wanted to know what  it was so the doctor said it was just an oil gland pimple. He said he could drain it, but I didn't bother to do it that was about two or three weeks ago. Its bothered me alot, because I can feel something there. Wouldn't that effect your vision especially on the corner of your eye?
Today I went back to him, because i wanted to get it drained. They took another eye test and said my eye got worst than from the last time. My vision was said to be 20/20 now, this doctor scared me to death by saying he see's a cloud behind my eye and its not the pimple thats in the way. He said I  could have cataracts, but I'm really to young. I don't know what to think. Now, my husband is so worried that he is taking me for a blood test tomorrow and to be checked out. What do you make of all this. Thank you

Answer
Hi Lynne,
The pimple you are describing is called a stye. You can have it treated by your doctor who can drain it or give you medicine to take and have you use hot, wet, clothes on it.
If your eye got worse, it wasn't from the pimple. You may have a little cloud behind your eye because we often see cataracts, even in younger people, but they rarely affect your vision. 20/20 vision is very good.
A blood test is fine if you haven't had a physical exam for awhile but I don't think your eyes are getting worse from any blood problem that you may have. If you are worried about your eyes, I would see another eye doctor to get another opinion on what problem you may have.
              Sincerely,
