Question
Due to installation of oracle 10g- enterprise edition is internet connection necessary? Beacause i have no permanent network connection. and Due to installation I have massage that network connection not configured.

Answer
Hi Hafsa,

While an Internet connection is not required, a (local) network connection is recommended if you want external users to connect to your database.

The Internet option allows you direct access to Oracle's site for news, information and patch fixes. If you have a full licensee, then you would also have full access to Metalink (metalink.oracle.com).
