Question
Hi Ma'am,

how  are  you?

I required some information from you about opportunities on oracle.

i am planning to change the company, can you suggest some information.

-> I have total experience 3 (2.10 years) years nearly. Shall we get calls for that experiace on Oracle.

-> Is it required any other technology combination for Oracle. or Pure only on oracle we will get calls.(like Oracle apps, java with oracle, informatica with oracle or Oracle with Unix shell           script like that)

-> If i attend the interview on Oracle as Oracle  developer, what they  will ask means they will ask only  on programming level or they will ask performance                     techniques also. (DBA's will use some techniques for tuning i think).

-> As  Oracle  developer which type of tuning techniques they will ask.(how to tune the query means, like create index on particular column, where cost is high, and using  operator instead of >=  and <=  we will use between, instead  of  using union we ll use union all, you said for update clause.... this kind of techniques)

Plz suggest me, i want to change the company.

i thought some body answerd this question, but i am not able to find anser for that.i received mail, but all answers upto oct 1, no answers after to that.
plz send me mail to

Thanks,

Kiran

Answer
Hi Kirankumar,

You have many opportunities in Oracle - PL/SQL Developer, Oracle Forms/Reports developer, Oracle DBA etc.

-> You can get calls for this 3 yrs exp. But at the time of the interview you have to show that you have worked in many areas like SQL complex queries, working with collections, advanced features in oracle, import/export, SQL*Loader, etc.
-> You can get calls purely in Oracle - PL/SQL or Forms/Reports developer. But you have to be prepared very thoroughly.
-> For Oracle developer, interviewers will ask all type of questions - PL/SQL, Database architecture and related, Database objects, Performance tuning, Indexing, Oracle tools used etc.
-> As Oracle Developer you should know at least SQL Performance tuning (indexes, hints in queries, cost, etc) and maybe some analyzing tables etc.

You prepare thoroughly and be confident for the interview, so that you will have a good chance of getting a new job.

Hope this helps.
