Could you please explain me how to partition a large table into small tables say table is having one million records.

Without understanding exactly your requirements, here is the syntax you would need to create the partitioned table: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b32024/part_admin.htm

Partition occurs to manage large volumes of data and information. Partitions can be over geography, months within a year or based on other business requirements. Partitioned tables also help in large data warehouse or Business Intelligence (BI) projects.
