Subject: pain after wisdom tooth was removed

Question
Ok my ? is my g/f had her wisdom tooth taken out on the top right side. well then her left bottom jaw started to hurt so bad she couldn't go to sleep. We thought that it could have been another impacted wisdom tooth. So she called the dentist and then she went to see them they did the x ray and told her its not her wisdom tooth and that she has no cavities they told her that her gums on the left side are inflamed and gave her 800mg ibuprofen. He said it would take about 4 days to stop well its been 5 days and it still hurts really bad and the meds don't help with the pain at all. The only thing that seems to help she says is cold cold water she also says that is it a lil sore but it hurts really bad like it is throbbing. so if anyone can help me with this I'm taking her to the dentist on monday. thanks plz help

Answer
Jimmy -  The pain that your girlfriend has, does she have radiation of the pain to her ear?  Does she have a headache in the temple region?  Does she feel a little stiffness when she opens and closes her mouth?

Get back to me with answers to the above questions and I might be able to better diagnose what is going on and help her reduce the pain.
