Hello Doctor. I've had this tender/pain feeling in the a small part of my mandible. If i put my finger on the area it feels like a hard bone of some sort. It's been six months. It only hurts when i touch it or eat. I took a CT SCAN.. Im 24 years old, very healthy. but I am very scared. i have no insurance. Do you know what it might be.

I have attached pictures. Also why does the CT SCAN make things larger then they are? it looks scary.

Please let me know what you think

Answer
Hello,

That's a very strange lesion. I have never come across a lesion in this area. However, it should be look at.  Biopsy should be performed to get a diagnosis. University of Miami, Jacksonville, gainsville have all Oral surgery residency programs. I'm sure one of these places would be able to help people without insurance. If not try one of the city or county hospitals.

Good luck and let me know if you need more help
