About Laurie Expertise I can answer questions about beaches, such as where to go for a good beginner`s surf break, what the crowds are like, are there bathrooms/concessions, any tide pools? I also know a lot about night life. Especially for 18 and under (since I just recently turned 21). I know about several of Orange County`s malls, coffee shops, and specialty stores.

Past/Present clients I'm not sure if you could call me an expert on Orange County, but I will probably be able to help you out. :) (i hope)
Answer Hi! I'm not exactly sure where in Orange County you're looking at going, but here are a few choices. I hope it helps. :)
If you're in northern Orange County, I've heard Seal Beach is a good place to learn (but I've never actually surfed there myself).
If you're looking for a more central location, check out Blackies. It's in Newport Beach just north of the Newport Pier. It's really gentle, but can also get kinda big if the conditions are just right. Watch out for the crowds on weekends 'cause the lifeguards tend to throw up blackball a lot.
If you're down farther south, one of the best places is San Onofre. Grab a long board, a couple of friends, and a cooler of drinks and snacks and SanO can be a great place to spend a day (or a weekend: they have camping too).
