Question Diane - We will be in Oregon in October and are interested in some form of Lewis & Clark tour. The only tours I know of are Lindblad Expeditions and the paddlewheeler Queen of the West. Do you prefer one over the other, or are there other less known companies that cruise those rivers?

Answer I know almost nothing about river tours, I'm sorry to say. River cruising is relatively recent here (although recreational boating certainly is not).
I do know that there has been criticism of our preparations for the Lewis & Clark celebrations. There is very little local publicity about what to expect. Local communities are planning various events, but there has been little overall coordination or funding.
The weather today is distractingly hot in Portland, and it looks as if it will continue to be very hot for the Junior Rose Festival Parade tomorrow and the Grand Floral Parade on Saturday.
